Marv Says: A new neighborhood bar, Sugarhouse Pub was a last minute addition to the list ou acheter viagra g. Sugarhouse Pub is a fresh breathe of air in the Sugarhouse scene. Located just off of 21st South on 11th East, it is handy to the Sugarhouse Commons shopping area. A long bar featuring only beer (for now) but a good selection at that. Not overly loud, it’s possible to have conversations even when the bar is full. The bartender was incredibly friendly and seemed to enjoy our mission. Sugarhouse Pub will definitely be a place that I remember when I want to go out for a cold one on a hot summer night. We shared pitcher of Cutthroat while enjoying the local feel of the place.

Marv Says: The Gibson Girl Lounge feels like an 1800s continental sitting room. This lavishly appointed lounge has intimate seating available for it’s patrons. The bartender was confused as to our goals or our presence in the bar. I think that he was confused when we paid in a manner other than adding it to a room charge. Kevork joined us in this place were I enjoyed a Blanton’s. Unless you are staying at the Grand America, I might give this place a miss. While very nice, it is a bit stuffy.

Marv Says: Piastra is a larger hotel bar found in the City Center Marriott. Next to the Gallivan Center, it’s a good place for a high end cocktail if you are around on a hot summer night. Bartender Brendan ably mixed up one of their signature drinks, The Rum Racer, for us. It is deceptively strong and incredibly sweet. We met Kevork, a gentleman in town for a convention, who was a very good conversationalist.

Marv Says: It’s not often that I get to find a whole new libation. Sure there are cocktails that are unique to a particular place, but it’s rare to find something new in the way of a spirit. The bartender Ted at Destinations recommended a Gin called St. Germaine’s. It was a floral gin that went well with the tonic. Not too sweet, it was a great way to discover a new spirit. The bar at Destinations is small, like many hotel bars, but friendly. The bar staff were top notch and very friendly. The decor was eclectic and fun. I’d happily find myself back in this hotel bar if spending an evening downtown.

We went to see the Albert Fisher mansion and beer garden on Saturday. Albert Fisher was a 19th century German immigrant who started Fisher Beer in Salt Lake. The mansion was built in 1894 on the banks of the Jordan River. Salt Lake City has purchased the mansion and is requesting ideas about what should happen with it. This jewel hidden away from the majority of the city was quite interesting. A beautiful house, lovely grounds, and good beer provided by Redrock made for a pleasant start to our evening. A band of very young kids played some old rock favourites quite well, much to my surprise. It was good to get out and see this place that I have driven past without so much as a glance.
Marv Says: Not your average sports bar, The Huddle sets the bar for the number of TV screens in one room. Also, the music playing was incredibly good 80’s fare. This warm spring evening saw few people there to enjoy a very workman like interior and lots and lots of sports. I stuck to Cutthroat and Tequila and Redbull to round out the night. Marv Says: Maggies is a very large sports bar nestled in a strip mall in Holladay. The decor is strictly bro-bar/sports bar. A pedestrian selection of libations will not challenge anyone’s creativity, but they do mix their cocktails well. The service was above average, and there are a wealth of tables. A very good location for groups of 6-10 people to visit with each other. Another Karaoke night met us with some horrific singing. I had a couple of SoCo limes and a Cutthroat with Makers.

Marv says: The Highlander is a neighborhood bar with a vexing entrance. You think you are hitting the correct door only to be stymied time and again as you search out the portal to gain entry. Inside is a large bar that is fairly well lit viagra vente en pharmacie. The night we went featured Karaoke. If you like Karaoke, it is fine, but the performers this night were terrible. I enjoyed a Crown and Coke with lime.

Marv Says: The Cotton Bottom is a beer only bar featuring the best Garlic Burger in the state. Located in an upscale neighborhood, The Cotton Bottom is a long time staple of the Eastern suburbs of Salt Lake Valley. Go there for a burger, but stay for the great atmosphere and a beer.

Marv Says: Beerhive is a great place to get some unusual beers. A frosted bar means your beer will stay cold as you sit down to enjoy it. A comprehensive beer menu will provide many visits worth of enjoyment. I sampled the Staropramen from the Czech republic and a Black Velvet made of Rogue chocolate stout and Ace apple cider. I also had an Ace pear cider as well.
