118 Bars Of SLC On The Wall, 118 Bars…
#59 Poplar Pub.
Marv Says: Tucked away downtown, Poplar is sort of like three bars in one. You’ve the dinner area that also features live music, the patio for those who still smoke in the world, and a couple of pool tables back with a big projector display good for watching games. It can be quite crowded at times, but I always seem to be able to get a drink with ease. The food is pretty decent too, featuring the Scotch Egg. A fun place to meet people and a fair selection behind the bar, especially of local Craft beers. I loved my Hops Rising.
Attending: Marv, Rawb, Nikol, Joe, Victor, DDD.

#75 The Bouron House
about 1 year ago - No comments
Marv Says: The Bourbon House – Marv Says- When I hear the name Bourbon House I am immediately put to mind of a place where focus is put on a dimly lit lounge where one samples a variety of single barrel bourbon offerings while light jazz is playing in the background. Tucked away in the
#74 BarX – Redux
about 1 year ago - No comments
Marv Says- We have visited this establishment downtown before. The previous incarnation included a rather dissapointing selection of low end beer and nothing else. This former tavern license holder was at the disturbing end of “seedy” bars. It wasn’t even dive, it was an abyss. A while back, BarX recieved a renovation and a massive
#73 High West Distillery

Marv says: High West Distillery is the first legal distillery in Utah since around the beginning of the 20th century. High West sells many straight whiskys from their Rendezvous Rye to their Silver Oat as well as a couple of vodka choices. Visiting their Park City distillery and restaurant is a treat. Housed in an
#71 Cheers To You Midvale.

Marv Says: Yes, at last another review. Tonight to celebrate the publication of the article in the New York Times, Rawb and I decided to kick off with a bar visit and review. We went to this neighborhood bar in Midvale as the start of many more reviews. Cheers To You Midvale is a small
#70 Urban Lounge
about 2 years ago - No comments
Marv Says: Urban Lounge is another of the local live music joints. You can see many acts either on their way up, or on their way out at this very small venue. The bar is not the focus here, but still it should be noted that it caters to drinkers of PBR all the way
#69 Tavernacle

Marv Says: Another piano bar, Tavernacle has a bit more comprehensive bar selection than most piano bars I have seen. The bar staff know they aren’t the main attraction here, but they sling drinks well. Often packed to the gills, we were there on a hot summer night that had fewer people in attendance than
#68 Keys on Main
about 2 years ago - No comments
Marv Says: Keys on Main is a dueling piano bar that features more action on stage than behind the bar. That said, the bartenders are competent and fun if often overlooked in this venue. Go early and get a table if you plan on being involved in the festivities. The tables fill up fast. I
#67.5 The Rail Event Center
about 2 years ago - No comments
Marv Says: Not on our original list, The Rail is a new concert venue on the west side of Down Town SLC. It’s tucked back by the railroad tracks and seems to be a straight concert venue. I went to see Primus with Gogol Bordello play, so decided to call this a review. Drinking wise,
#67 Downtown Hookah Lounge
about 2 years ago - No comments
Marv Says: It’s strange that it took me this long to visit this bar. It’s very close to my old office, in the heart of Down Town SLC. It inhabits the second floor of an old office building and has a wide open Hookah lounge and dance area with a bar tucked away in the
#66 Kristauff’s
about 2 years ago - No comments
Marv Says: A narrow bar situated next door to Takeshi Sushi, Kristauff’s is a great place to go for a couple of cocktails before your dinner next door. It was packed with a birthday party when we arrived, and service was poor. The drinks were acceptable but it’s not hard to make a Tequila and

I finally got to check this place out last night for a private party. Thanks to an actor that shall remain nameless, we got free drinks. I sampled the following:
-2 AMFs (best AMF in Utah bars. EVER.)
-4 pomegranate kamis
-1 raspberry lemonade mind eraser
-1 I dunno what it was, but it had malibu or sunrise in it and was very tropical
