Marv Says:

A live music bar with the now familiar $10 cover charge, Bar Delux was surprisingly empty. Very few patrons were there to see the horrible band Kettlefish (think of a highschool garage band that got old and not good). The real surprise of this evening was the cold service by the bartender. Maybe she was having a bad day, but it was a very large surprise to me to see how disinterested she was in either suggesting a beverage for consumption or being at all personable. I can only guess that the burlesque show that was going to happen later would pull more people in, as I hear it’s a good show. But I can tell you that I won’t be back in a hurry. If the band you want to see is playing there, then assuredly support them, but otherwise avoid.
I had a Bombay Sapphire and Grapefruit and finished Rawb’s Shock Top and Maker’s to get out of there ASAP.

Rawb says:

I’ve made it here before for the Slippery Kittens and when I made it there the place was packed to the gills with hardly any way to make it from one location to another, this night we were here a bit earlier and before the lovely ladies made it on to the stage so we had plenty of space for all of us. As Marv said, the bartender here was seemingly very opposed to giving us any suggestions or showing any interest, even to the extent that I was doubting her ability to speak English. Filled with scenesters and hipsters this place wasn’t my crowd, so I didn’t make it much of a point to stick around, and the band was horrible enough to make me not doubt that decision. For a situation report of the bar, near the stage there are a small handful of tables and close to the entrance there are a few pool tables, a small bar and a few bartenders make me pretty uninterested in this location. For who should go here, if you wear eyeglasses entirely for irony and ride a fixed gear bicycle, this is probably already the place you are drinking.
